It was an incredible season for the Mexican driver, with him claiming his first ever F1 race victory at the 2020 Sakhir Grand Prix, as well as it being Racing Point F1 Team’s only race win in F1 to date. Not only that, but Pérez also became the first Mexican Formula One driver to win a race since Pedro Rodríguez won the 1970 Belgian Grand Prix. The 2020 season also marked Sergio’s final year racing with BWT Racing Point F1 Team, of which he’d been a part of since 2014 under their previous name (Force India).
