McLaren F1 Team MCL60 2023 Norris & Piastri Skid Block Wall Art

This skid block plank has since been re-engineered into a piece of art, meticulously designed to be displayed in your home or office space. This wall art celebrates the papaya team and both drivers, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, in their first season together as a team.

The skid block plank is a wooden plank fixed to the underside of a Formula 1 car chassis. It limits how low the car can run, preventing teams from gaining excessive aerodynamic advantages by riding too close to the ground. The plank also protects the under body of the car, with teams having to comply with the regulations for the maximum amount of wear or face a possible disqualification.

The McLaren team had a slow start to 2023, the car was underperforming, and the expected results were not coming their way. However, this changed at Silverstone as the upgrades developed by the team started to improve the car's performance and Lando Norris achieved his first podium of the season. The British Grand Prix was the start of the MCL60’s rebirth, as the team went on to achieve eight more podiums through the latter half of the season.

McLaren ended up finishing the season in 5th place in the Constructors’ Championship ahead of Aston Martin. This incredible end of season form has continued into the 2024 season, as McLaren sit top of the Constructors’ Championship as of the Singapore Grand Prix.
